Research tells us that parental involvement in a child's education is critical, but engaging parents in their child's education can be a challenge. This course will explore ways to engage families initially and keep them involved in the classroom.

Bullying is a problem in school settings and recognizing what bullying is can be the first step in stopping it. This course explores the types of bullying, what bullying looks like, and gives suggestions on how to stop bullying.

Managing difficult behaviors in the preschool classroom can be challenging. This course examines the types of difficult behavior and offers practical suggestions for handling difficult behavior in the preschool classroom.

Preschool Classroom Management (1 hr)

This course examines the role of communication in effective preschool classroom management.  Participants will learn what characteristics successful teachers share & the link between communication and behavior.

Conflict Resolution for School-Age Children (1 hr)

Conflicts arise every day in our afterschool programs.  Having the skills to mediate these conflicts is essential for the afterschool teacher.  This course will examine the causes of conflict & strategies to resolve conflict.

The Impact of Language Development on School Readiness (1 hr)

This course will explore the importance of language development on school readiness and also provide strategies to help children develop language skills that will set the stage for learning.
