Recent Regulation Changes
The Division of Child Care recently announced regulatory changes to requirements for training. The regulation reads:
- 18) A staff person shall not repeat online training courses, including pre-service orientation, unless:
- (a) Five (5) years have passed since the online training was completed; or
- (b) He or she is required to as part of a disciplinary directive by a state agency.
- (19) A staff person shall not accumulate more than fifteen (15) hours of training in a twenty-four (24) hour period
The Child Care Council of Kentucky does not monitor if a participant has taken training topics during the five year period. That is the responsibility of the participant. The Child Care Council of Kentucky adds new online trainings frequently to avoid duplication of trainings.
Due to the regulatory change and in order to encourage compliance, the Child Care Council of Kentucky will not accept trainings above 15 hours of training in a 24 hour period.
