Cognitive Planning With the Standards (Birth to Three) (1 hr)

In this session, we’ll explore cognitive development through Piaget and Vygotsky’s theories, relating them to Kentucky’s Early Childhood Standards and classroom planning for birth to three.

Multiple Generations in the Classroom (2 hrs)

This workshop will look at the character traits of the four generations that currently work in the early childhood classroom, discuss what motivates those generations, and how they can work together as a team.

Creating Inclusivity in Early Childhood Classrooms (6 hr)

We will be discussing how to turn traditional early childhood classrooms into inclusive settings. Within this session, participants will learn how to create inclusive environments ensures that every child is able to participate at their skill level.

ASQ-3: A Parent Completed, Child Monitoring System (1 hr)

Participants will be learn how to implement the Ages and Stages (ASQ-3) Questionnaire, as well as how to work with families to complete the screening tool.

The ABCs of Assessment (1 hr)

Participants will be introduced to the basics of assessment in early childhood education.

Kentucky’s Early Childhood Standards: The Introduction to the Standards and Family Guides (2 hrs)

The purpose of the Early Childhood Standards is to provide educators with a guide to preparing children for success in school, starting in infancy through four-year-olds.
