Using the Communication Standard, Birth to Three (1 hr)

While reviewing the communication standard, we will look into all the ways infants and toddlers communicate and why they’re all important and come up with activities that will aid in our planning and assessment of ages birth to three.

Motor Development Standard & Planning: Birth to Three (1 hr)

We will learn about the Kentucky standard for motor development, the milestones of each age group within the birth to three spectra, and how we can best plan on an individual and group level.

Social Emotional Standard: Planning and Assessing, Birth to Three (1 hr)

In this session, teaching staff will become more familiar with the social emotional standard. Participants will also examine why planning SEL is important and ways to assess that activities are of benefit to the children in their care.

Cognitive Planning With the Standards (Birth to Three) (1 hr)

In this session, we’ll explore cognitive development through Piaget and Vygotsky’s theories, relating them to Kentucky’s Early Childhood Standards and classroom planning for birth to three.

Planning Using the Approaches to Learning Standard (Birth through 3) (1 hour)

In this session, we will learn about the Approaches to Learning Standard, birth to three, and how to create learning environments that facilitate areas of focus, creativity, and persistence for the children in our care.

Infant Care and Expectations (1 hour)

In this training, we will explore aspects of infant classroom care and teaching. Those aspects include attachment, supporting development and abilities, and lesson planning.
