We will study important aspects of the Montessori classroom and how to incorporate these methods into early childhood curriculum and planning as well as how the Kentucky Early Childhood Standards integrate into our planning.

Course

Participants will engage with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as well as new research that adds to this theory. Maslow’s pyramid is a mainstay of both humanistic psychology and educational practices.

In our continuing series on early childhood theory, we will discuss Attachment Theory in this one hour offering. Participants will hear who Bowlby is and why he studied attachment.

Participants will learn about who Erik Erikson is and how influential his life span development theory is important within the early childhood world.
