Theory Series: Maria Montessori and the Montessori Approach (1 hr)

In this edition of our ongoing theory series, participants will look at Maria Montessori and how she came to the world-famous Montessori Method. We will study important aspects of the Montessori classroom and how to incorporate these methods into early childhood curriculum and planning as well as how the Kentucky Early Childhood Standards integrate into our planning.

*This training session applies to early childhood as it is a method for teaching, planning and curriculum development.

Objectives:

  • Describe who Maria Montessori is and how she came to her approach.
  • Analyze key aspects of Montessori.
  • Create and Design curriculum and environments using the Montessori approach.
