Establishing Parent Partnerships: Infant Classroom (1 hr)

In this one-hour session, participants will gain an understanding of how parent partnerships can build a foundation for lifelong learning for the family. This includes the dynamics and ways in which parents and teachers within the early childhood classroom, especially in an infant room, should begin to interact. We will learn how to intentionally construct these relationships in ways that build trust between the family and the classroom and school setting. The impact of parental partnerships in the infant classroom can result in many positive outcomes such as shared responsibility, mutual respect, and open and consistent communication.

Objectives:

  • Analyze the importance of parental partnerships.
  • Examine the dynamics of parent-teacher relationships.
  • Recognize ways to build the partnership.
