CDA Subject Area: 4: Building Productive Relationships with Families
Family engagement is a critical component of high-quality early childhood programs and a key indicator of positive child outcomes. This training series explores Kentucky ALL STARS Family and Community Engagement Standards (C1-C6) and provides early childhood professionals with practical strategies to strengthen partnerships with families and community organizations.
Participants will examine the impact of family engagement on children's learning and development, identify common barriers to participation, and develop meaningful family engagement activities that align with Kentucky Early Childhood Standards. The training also explores effective two-way communication practices, transition planning for children and families, the identification and sharing of community resources, and the development of sustainable partnerships with community agencies.
Through reflection, examples, and implementation strategies, participants will learn how to create inclusive family engagement opportunities, document evidence for ALL STARS requirements, support successful transitions, connect families to needed resources, and foster collaborative relationships that promote positive outcomes for children and families.
